Since Pantone announced earlier this year that ‘greenery’ is their colour for 2017, we’ve been seeing it everywhere, from the catwalk to our favourite interior design magazines, so it’s no wonder that a couple of gorgeous green pieces have made our showroom. But although we can appreciate green interiors in glossy magazines and stylish showrooms, there’s no denying that the thought of green in our own homes can be a bit intimidating. To make incorporating the latest colour trend a little easier, we’ve put together 4 foolproof ways you can make green work, whatever your style.

1. Feature Wall

We love how this dark grey G Plan Fifty Nine Sofa balances out the shock of the green, all you need now are some cosy furnishings to soften the look. A green feature wall sounds like a big first step but actually, it’s one of the cheaper and less permanent ways of trying it out - after all, you can always paint it back! By painting a wall green, you can keep the rest of your furnishings neutral so there’s no need to invest in any whacky pieces if you aren’t sure.

2. Bold furnishings

If you’re ready to invest, bold furnishings make a style statement with a more authentic feel. This beautiful green G Plan Vintage Fifty Nine sofa has a retro-inspired design and is upholstered in a trendy green fabric so it ticks all the style boxes for 2017. Or, instead of a statement sofa, a green armchair or snuggler chair alongside other carefully chosen pieces can still show off the trend without it dominating the room. Here the Alexander & James Hoxton Snuggler chair is given a contemporary edge by the emerald velvet covering.

3. Nature’s Neutral

The shade of green chosen by Pantone is a fresh yellow-green that they’ve described as ‘nature's neutral’, as it is ‘illustrative of flourishing foliage’, so of course, bringing a bit of the outside in is a no brainer. You can bring any room to life with plants, whatever the colour scheme, so choose a few you like and make sure to keep them looking fresh!

4. Accessories

Accessories are always the quickest and easiest way to incorporate the latest trend, plus you can have fun switching them in and out whenever you like. A couple of green cushions can brighten up a neutral sofa in an instant, we love this Scatterbox Green Velour Cushion.
