Harrison Spinks and mattresses have been in production since 1889. Over 100 years later, the way they make their beds is a little different but they’re still a family business with the same ethos and values.

Harrison Bed’s aim has always been to deliver a tailored sleep experience to every single customer. So still to this day, all of Harrison beds and mattresses are individually handmade to order.

The Innovators

By building on the knowledge passed down the generations, Harrison Beds have developed their very own spring technology.

The core of every mattress features their award-winning Revolution spring-within-spring system. Revolution springs have a smaller spring inside a larger one to provide two levels of support. The top layer cushions your body shape whilst the lower layer supports and redistributes your body’s weight.

Surrounding the core of Revolution springs will be another layer of smaller, very flexible titanium alloy HD springs. The HD springs are able to move independently of each other and mould precisely to your body shape for the ultimate in supportive comfort.

The Sleep Tailors

The kind of supportive comfort you prefer will determine the number springs and the natural fillings inside your mattress.

Because no two sleepers are the same, Harrison Beds have developed mattresses to suit everyone. As a result, they became known as the sleep tailors.

If you're after a supportive mattress but you still want to enjoy that initial sinking feeling, Harrison Beds have designed pillow top mattresses. The Castillion 8250 has a pillow top layer over the pocket sprung mattress for the best of both worlds.

Harrison Beds also design mattresses with Warm Side/Cool Side technology. They use the properties of the natural fillings to create an insulating and cooling surface so you can turn the mattress according to the seasons.

At the more premium end of the spectrum, the mattresses feature a third kind of spring: Airflow Pocket Springs. These small springs channel airflow through the mattress to keep it dry and fresh whatever the season.

The Finishing Touches

The pocket springs and layers of natural fillings are secured in place by woollen tufts. The sides are then painstakingly hand-stitched by experienced craftsmen who could never be replaced by a machine. We think it's the amount of time and care that goes into these final stages that makes Harrison beds and mattresses so special.
