The Tom Schneider Atlas collection is inspired by Atlas, a Titan from Greek Mythology who is often depicted in sculptures with a globe weighing heavily on his shoulders. Tom Schneider’s designs show outstretched arms that stand poised beneath glass tops, creating a silhouette similar to that of the Atlas Sculptures famously seen in places such as the Rockefeller Centre, New York City.
The striking design translates well into furniture which is why the Atlas collection has proved to be one of Tom Schneider’s consistent best sellers. Unlike traditional pieces of furniture, the Atlas pieces allow light to pass around the core so they take up very little visual space.
